Basia Zielinska (b. 1947, Leer) is a Sydney-based abstract artist and art educator of Polish heritage practicing on the traditional land of the Cammeraygal people. Basia was raised in a migrant camp in the United Kingdom post-World War II and spent much of her youth trying to understand her place in the world. Basia has exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions nationally. In 2018, she was invited by The Polish Consulate in Sydney to exhibit her oeuvre and showcase a visual migrant’s lens of Australia. Basia has been a finalist and recipient of multiple Art Prizes, and her works can be found in many private collections internationally.
