ART COMMISSION:
GOLDEN WATTLE

As a migrant Gosia went through a process of exploring, understanding, and falling in love with native Australian flora. The painting “Golden Wattle” is representative of Acacia Pycnantha commonly known as Golden Wattle, which is a symbol of unity. Gosia playfully creates a visual dichotomy in the painting with highly detailed and un-detailed areas; with soft and hard edges; and with bright and muted tones. The overarching structure is complimented by the painterly elements of the composition creating a compelling visual experience. It captures the magic of the unique Australian landscape through a migrants lens.
