Basia Zielinska
ARTIST WORKSHOP
Artist Basia Zielinska invites participants to create their own artist book. Participants will be exploring mark making techniques and will create and take home their own unique art book.

ABOUT
Artist Basia Zielinska invites participants to create their own artist book. Participants will be exploring mark making techniques and will create and take home their own unique art book.
This workshops is open to all levels of expertise, however no previous art experience is necessary. This workshop is only suitable for participants over the age of 16.
Come and discover with Basia’s guidance your unique, painterly “handwriting” as you venture into an intuitive, abstract painting experience.
Most of Basia’s expressive, abstract paintings begin with a wide range of marks, using a variety of mark making tools on her canvas or artist paper.
Basia will demonstrate how to make these marks, trust your unique, “artist handwriting” on a full size quality sheet of Fabriano artist paper.
You may choose to use pencils, graphite pens, felt tip pens, brushes and acrylic paints to make intuitive marks. Basia will talk about a monochromatic palette and a complementary colour palette.
When you have painted your sheet of paper, Basia will demonstrate how to fold it, and cut it, creating a gorgeous artist book from a single sheet of paper.
After folding you may choose to make some more marks, or “paint out” some areas.
Artist books are an absolute joy to create and you may leave them just as they are or perhaps write in your favourite inspirational sayings or perhaps poems.
